Business reality series, The Innovators has stayed true to supporting participants of the show. The creator of the show, Yaneek Page and fellow entrepreneur and co-host Gary Matalon have provided mentorship, guidance and exposure to over 75 Jamaican businesses through the programme over the past 6 years. “One of our goals is to encourage Jamaicans to support local entrepreneurs and small business through their patronage and this is something we’ve practiced consistently. Importantly, we don’t promote blind patronage, but purchases that deliver exceptional value to the consumer so all parties benefit”, noted executive producer, Yaneek Page.
From as far back as Season 1 The Innovators has utilized the services of several newly developed businesses premiered on their series. Season 1 participant Marcia McPherson of Be-u-tiful Dezines had been contracted to provide breathtaking décor for the show’s launches, expos, training functions and much more. McPherson, said “It feels great to know that they keep supporting me even after the show. I even won an award from them for Best Customer Service in 2015”. Some of the other companies who now boast The Innovators as customers are Super Spicy Doubles, specializing in Trinidadian cuisine, D’Nex Step known for their unique designer sandals, craft company Garry’s Concepts, and strawberry farmer Mais Farms, among many others.
Season 4 participants, Talisa Taylor and Dionne Waugh are also beneficiaries of The Innovators procurement opportunities who expressed gratitude for the vote of confidence in their professional services. Talisa Taylor of Taylor Made Events and PR Management is providing public relations services for season 7 of The Innovators while Dionne Waugh of Bridal Dreams Jamaica was engaged to help conduct training sessions in Montego Bay. Taylor said “The creators of The Innovators did not just provided guidance but they stayed true to their word in supporting Jamaican businesses. This sends a very strong message about their character”.
The Innovators is a half-hour weekly business reality TV series hosted by Yaneek Page and Gary Matalon.
