Event organizers for Purple Slush Family Fun Day slated for Saturday, July 21, 2017 at Colonel Cove in St. Thomas have been actively rallying for donations for their Pack-a-bag campaign. The campaign aims to provide over 1000 packed school bags for students through donations. The campaign’s ambassadors Morgan ‘Rainn’ McCalla age 8 and Taraji Williams age 7 can be seen through online promotions and television advertisements seeking your support.

The organizers for the event have managed to secure a few donations from sponsors but it has been a difficult task. Event planner, Talisa Taylor of Taylor Made Events and PR Management said “I have been soliciting sponsorship from quite a few book stores seeking discounts on purchases for our donors and have been turned down while on the flip slide we have received support from the general public some of who make it a priority to donate each year. We are hopeful that we will meet our goal for 2018”.

Purple Slush is an annual event that has prided itself in giving back to families. Taylor added, “Each year we provide support to families in different ways. Additionally, we partner with schools who receive bonuses from tickets sold to students. The tickets are only $400 and the students ride free all day and they received packed school bags on entry while stock lasts”. The event also features family friendly entertainment at a secure venue.

Purple Slush organizers are still seeking donations. Persons can contact 876-833-5444 for drop off locations and more information or visit their social pages on Instagram and Facebook @PurpleSlushFunDay
